El Salvador Surf Breaks
This is a guide to El Salvador's surf breaks — from the world-class right-hand point at Punta Roca to the long, punchy walls of El Sunzal, La Bocana, El Zonte, K59, K61 and Mizata in La Libertad, plus Las Flores and Punta Mango further along the coast. The country's best and most consistent waves sit across two main surfing regions, Las Flores and La Libertad: point-breaks, river-mouths and beach-breaks for every level, from first-timers to advanced surfers chasing a barrel.
The surfing in Las Flores includes point-breaks and beach-breaks. The point-breaks in this region are volcanic formations with sandy bottom. This has been a more remote location than La Libertad and there are some waves not very frequented yet.
In La Libertad there's a variety of waves including point-breaks, river-mouths and beach-breaks, for longboard and beginner waves. Besides all the waves listed here, there are some others that break good on the right swell direction, without mentioning some good beach-breaks that work good on small swells.
